MERRIAM STAFF VS. PTO BASKETBALL GAME - WEDNESDAY, NOVEMBER 30TH AT 6:00 (DOORS OPEN AT 5:30)
Show your Merriam community spirit at this annual basketball extravaganza - come join the fun and cheer on your favorites as Merriam staff members play a friendly game of basketball versus PTO members on Wednesday, November 30th. The game begins at 6:00, with food available and doors opening at 5:30. Mark your calendar and watch for more ticket information in the Friday Mail folders in November. Tickets are also available at the door. Event organizers are looking for volunteers to help out that evening with tickets, concessions, and behind-the-scenes help. If you are interested and can lend a hand, please contact Carrie Mathews (
carrie275@aol.com) and Meg Brennan (pilatesmeg@yahoo.com).

PTO Basketball Team:  We are now recruiting players for the PTO team, and the one criteria for joining the team is that you have volunteered for some PTO event.  If you are interested in playing for the PTO, please contact Kristina Rychlik ( krychlik@mac.com)

We are looking for a volunteer to help in the office, a couple of hours in the morning, every other Wednesday.  If you are available to help, please contact Dianna McNeish, (mcneish4@verizon.net)

Thank you to Ali Stanton and Claire McCarthy for organizing the teacher luncheon on 11/2 and to everyone who contributed or helped!

In recent weeks, we have emailed the Merriam parent community about School Committee discussions regarding the funding of teaching assistants and related issues. This is an important issue to the Merriam School Community, and we would like to encourage you to stay informed about this issue by attending School Committee Meetings.  The next APS meeting will take place at Merriam School.
