PTO is expected to have a representative attend School Committee meetings
and report back to the PTO on relevant issues. We are looking for someone to take
on this task for Merriam.
While we may occasionally need more of us to be
there, we need a consistent presence at those meetings and someone who is
willing to attend, take notes and report back to the PTO. If you have an interest in the
classroom assistant issue, or any of the broader issues facing our
schools, please consider helping us here. Contact Kristina Rychlik at
krychlik@mac.com
for more information.
Thank you to
all the volunteers that help out in the office every
week! We are looking
for a volunteer to help in the office, a couple of hours in the morning,
every other Wednesday. If you
are available to help, please contact Dianna McNeish, (mcneish4@verizon.net)
The cultural
committee is looking for dancers, singers, scientists, cultural
ambassadors, etc. They need to be engaging, work well with children, be
articulate and priced within our budget "nominal charge". Varsha,
varsha_deokar@yahoo.com
If
you are looking for additional year end tax deductions, please consider
Merriam PTO. Your donation directly supports our students, and you receive
a tax deduction! If you would like to donate, please send your
contribution (addressed to Merriam PTO) to the school. Thanks for your
support! Hard
to believe, but you can raise money for Merriam just by collecting a few
things when you shop. These programs have raised thousands of dollars and
earned FREE school supplies for Merriam, and you can help! Here’s how:
Do
you buy Yoplait yogurt? Pillsbury rolls? Kleenex tissues? These are just a
few of the many items that have the small BoxTops for Education
stamp on them. Just collect the stamps, and send them in to the office
whenever you'd like -- there's a box there to collect them. Also,
if you shop at Donelan’s, save your cash register receipts from
September 1 to March 31. Send them in to the office whenever you'd like,
and put them in the BoxTops box. | |
