Oct 17 @ 4:00 pm – 7:00 pm
Merriam Fall Fair @ Merriam Cafetorium | Acton | Massachusetts | United States

Please mark your calendars for  the annual Merriam Fall Fair. Saturday, October 17th from 4 to 7 p.m!  There will be lots of food, and general attractions such as a cotton candy machine, face painting and a “cake walk”.  Each classroom also has the honor of running a “booth” with a game or activity to add to the fun.

One of our most popular events the Fall Fair needs your help!  If you prefer to donate something we are looking for Carmel apples and cakes for the cake walk.  There are a number of positions still available such as cotton candy makers, face painters and more!

2016 Merriam Auction @ Holiday Inn Boxborugh
Apr 9 @ 6:00 pm

Dust off your legwarmers, break out the neon and tease up your hair, we are going back to the ‘80s for the 2016 Merriam Auction!

80sareback

After a two-year hiatus, the Merriam Auction is back by popular demand—this time with really big hair! Not only is the auction a fun-filled evening for the Merriam community, it is also the key source of funding for our talented classroom teaching assistants. Please join us for dinner, auctions and plenty of ’80s surprises. So mark your calendars for Saturday, April 9th at 6:00 p.m. and join us at the Holiday Inn in Boxborough for dinner, auctions and plenty of ‘80s surprises!

Calling all Merriam chefs, artists and party planners! Won’t you lend the 2016 Merriam Auction your skills?

Are you looking for a way to give back to the Merriam Community? Please consider providing a community donation such as a service, a talent, a personal creation, a party or an item to the Merriam Auction. We appreciate all donations including big-ticket items like vacation homes, sports tickets and dinner parties, as well as smaller, unique items. You don’t need to spend a lot of money or go it alone. Think about a skill or service that you (or a small group of parents) could provide to others. Each year, donations from the Merriam Community bring in over half of total auction revenues!

More information on community donation opportunities and the submission form can be found in the Friday mail or by clicking here. Also, let the auction committee know if your place of business has items or services they might be willing to donate. Your donation, large or small, goes directly to funding our talented classroom assistants. If you have any questions, please contact Beth Chimento. Thank you for helping the Auction Committee put the FUN back in fundraising!

Volunteers Needed: We are currently looking for help in the below areas:

Business Donations Help (Many Hands)

We are looking for some volunteers to help our Business Donation coordinator, Michelle Romm, in the following areas:

  • Contacting local / national businesses and obtaining item donations.
  • Confirming that items are added to our Auction database in Bidding for Good as they are promised
  • Assisting in the pick-up / delivery of donated items prior to the Auction

Classroom Art Project Volunteers (many hands)

Each year, some of the most popular auction items are the classroom art projects. These works of art are unique to each class and include a piece made by each Merriam student.

  • We will be looking for several volunteers to help the third grade classes complete their projects on December 10th at Merriam. If you have a third grader and can lend a hand in the morning or afternoon, please let us know.

If you are able to help out with an area listed above, please contact Alycen Nigro via email at alyheels@yahoo.com. These tasks do not take a lot of time and are invaluable to the success of the auction. Thank you!
