Food Collection drive for the Acton Food Pantry!

Joanne’s class, in conjunction with a few community parents are running a Merriam food collection drive for the Acton Food Pantry!  The drive is running until Wednesday, April 4th, and a collection box is located in the lobby.  Below, please find details about the food pantry, their services, and their needs!  If you can, please help us to provide food for local families in need.

The Acton Food Pantry provides food to residents-in-need from Acton, Boxborough, Carlisle, Concord, Littleton, Maynard, Westford, and Stow.  The Pantry’s shelves are filled with cereal, canned meat and fish, canned vegetables, juice, pasta, baking items, boxed milk, soup, rice, canned tomato products, canned beans, macaroni and cheese, peanut butter, canned fruit, coffee and tea.

Each week the Pantry is open it provides food to about 220 households and gives out about 8000 pounds of food.  Within these households are adults, infants, children, and senior citizens from within our local area with one thing in common, they need help.

The items that the Food Pantry needs most right now are canned meats and fish, canned fruit, canned tomato products, 100 % juice boxes, rice, baking mixes, and cereal. (Please do not donate food with a past due expiration date.)
