Literacy Week 2021

Dear Families,

Thursday and Friday March 11 and 12 is our annual ‘Literacy Dress Up Day’ for our in-person cohorts. As part of our Literacy Week celebration, we invite students to dress up as a character from a book, or a ‘vocabulary word’ with the classroom teacher’s approval. However, we want to be sure that this is a literacy focused event, not a chance to revisit Halloween. As you help your child find/create a costume, please be sure that it connects to a specific book and story, or an interesting describing word or term. Please click here  for a helpful organizer to use while planning a ‘vocabulary’ costume.

We also want to be sure that these costumes are appropriate for our K-6 elementary school. Please do not include any objectionable or violent imagery or weapons in costumes.

Thank you for your support in helping us make this event a success!
