We hope everyone enjoyed Merriam March Madness! What fun to see the community together cheering for our teachers, parents, and students in a friendly game of basketball. A HUGE thank you to Leah and Kostas Dafoulas for chairing the event and organizing all the many moving parts from recruiting parent players to setting up the fun games and activities to volunteering as the referee! Thanks also to Emily Cooper for stepping up to co-chair to make sure all went smoothly. Thank you to all the parent volunteers who sold tickets and refreshments, and a big high five to our parent emcee Scott Kiernan and Merriam alum Niko on the scoreboard. Thank you to Kate, Lucia, Adrienne, and Kaitlyn for bravely volunteering for the Pie in the Face contest! Thank you to our wonderful music teacher, Marlee, and the Merriam chorus for singing the national anthem. And thank you to our amazing 6th grade teaching team for organizing the 6th grade players and always being willing to go above and beyond for our students.
