School Council


School Council is an important working group comprised of three parents/guardians, three Merriam Teacher, as well as Bryant and Juliana. 

The role of the School Council is to provide input around our School Improvement Plan each year, discuss school events, as well as offer guidance or advice around varying topics that emerge in a given year. Additionally, the School Council has sponsored one event each year (pre-covid). These events have included Literacy Night and Family Theme Night.

This is a 3-year commitment and this year meetings will take place remotely, usually the 2nd Tuesday evening of the month starting at 7pm for about 60- 75 minutes.

If you are interested in serving on our School Council, please submit a short (4-6 sentence) paragraph about yourself.  We will then generate an online ballot for Merriam families to use to elect three new representatives. Write-ups can be sent to Juliana at jschneider@abschools.org
